Creation Corner - Get Involved

By Sylvia Neely

On March 24, some people from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in State College gathered  to watch a webcast of a forum sponsored by the Episcopal Church.  This significant event called “Forum on the Climate Change Crisis” was held in the Diocese of Los Angeles, but, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, the 90-minute forum was webcast so that we could follow it as it occurred.

Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori gave an excellent keynote address.  She described the science and consequences of climate change and showed its connection to our faith and mission.  Her remarks were followed by two panels focusing on these topics:  Regional Impacts of Climate Change and Reclaiming Climate Change as a Moral Issue.  The Forum served as the kickoff to 30 Days of Action, a range of activities that will be offered for individuals and congregations to understand the environmental crisis.

If you missed the initial webcast, you can still watch it by going to this website.
